From new media to the social web

Hello. I'd like to briefly introduce myself for our corporate blog. My name is Todd Thacker. I grew up in Canada and have lived, studied and worked in Chile, Japan and now Korea. After doing graduate work in Confucianism here, I got a job at The Korea Herald editing and writing on the culture desk. Later, I was hired by OhmyNews to set up and run their international citizen journalism desk. Working with hundreds of people around the world and helping them to tell their stories via the Internet (and all the technology of digital photography, video and podcasts) was very rewarding. I stayed for five years before coming to UserStory Lab.

I'd met and worked with UserStory Lab's CEO (Mr. Jung) and developer (Mr. Bae / co-founder) at OhmyNews and was happy to hear that they were working on their own start-up. I've always been interested in technology and New Media. It seemed like a "good fit" for me to move from online journalism to a social web start-up. Many of the ideas and plans I have for USL's global operation come from years of working online and watching the web develop and become such a powerful tool that enriches our lives.

In this way, I'd like to help UserStory Lab to bring exciting, new services to our users. We've got plans that I guarantee you've never seen before. I look forward to announcing our products in the coming months.
